The opportunity:

Powerlink is expanding, and we're on the lookout for a Senior Business Analyst to join our Next Generation Network Operations (NGNO) project team. If you're driven by the prospect of shaping the future of Queensland's energy transmission network, this is your chance to make a significant impact.

This role will be a key part of our NGNO team, focusing on the successful delivery of our new Outage Management System project. You will analyse business processes, identify areas for improvement, and work closely with stakeholders to design and implement solutions that enhance performance, efficiency, and profitability.

Further to this you will;

  • Analyse current processes to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement within the project scope.
  • Define business requirements and create process maps and workflow diagrams.
  • Document future state business processes and workflows to support NGNO Portfolio initiatives.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather and document business needs.
  • Lead and support project planning, execution, and risk management.
  • Support change impact analysis and training needs analysis as required.
  • Analyse data for trends and performance insights. Provide actionable reports and dashboards to inform business decisions.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders, ensuring their needs are met.
  • Facilitate communication between business and technical teams.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to ensure solutions meet business requirements.
  • Support testing (including SIT and UAT) to ensure quality and performance standards are met.

The people you'll join:

Are you ready to be part of a transformative initiative that will shape the future of energy network management? Powerlink is embarking on the Next Generation of Network Operations (NGNO) program—a once-in-a-generation opportunity to redefine how we operate our network. This program is focused on making our operations more adaptable and efficient in response to an evolving energy landscape.

As a Senior Business Analyst, you will be focused on the replacement of our Outage Management System. The Outage Management System (OMS) is a key tool used for the planning and management of planned and unplanned outages across the Powerlink network.  The OMS Project will deliver an integrated solution replacing Powerlink’s legacy outage management application (iTOA), and improved outage planning and management processes.

What you'll bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Business Admin, Engineering, or a lesser qualification coupled with significant experience

As an experienced Business Analyst, you will possess a strong sense of initiative and the ability to drive best practices and processes within projects. Experience with regulatory compliance, preferably AEMO, is key to succeeding in this role. You will have advanced skills in process mapping, gap analysis, and project delivery frameworks, along with knowledge of Business Process Model & Notation (BPMN).

Strong negotiation skills, a proactive mindset, keen attention to detail, and the ability to drive best practices and processes are crucial. Experience with Signavio is preferable. Additionally, you will have strong communication skills across a variety of stakeholder groups, including technical stakeholders. Demonstrating ownership and accountability in delivering results is critical for this role.
