The opportunity:

As a Security Risk Specialist you’ll lead the planning, coordination, and implementation of protective security risk assessments, security system testing and site security inspections across operational facilities – from substations to control centres and corporate facilities.

You'll be at the forefront of identifying threats, risks and testing that security controls are effective to protect our critical infrastructure ensuring compliance with the Security of Critical Infrastructure Act (SoCI), Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF), and other relevant regulatory obligations.

The people you'll join:

 

Sitting within our Field and Asset Management Division, the Protective Security and Authorisations team is accountable for business wide protective security service compliance and protection functions, protecting Powerlink from activism, terrorism and criminal activity whilst managing the strategic development and application of enterprise physical security plans, systems and standards for the business. 

 

Based in Virginia, you’ll join a team that is solution-focused, risk-informed, and committed to safeguarding critical infrastructure. This is your chance to shape how physical and electronic security is embedded into the lifecycle of high-impact projects. 

What you'll bring:

You’re someone who thrives in a regulated environment, enjoys being in the field and conducting assessments, understands the real-world implications of critical infrastructure protection, and knows how to bring together risk and threat assessments with technical, strategic, and operational expertise.

You’ll bring:

  • Proven experience in enterprise risk assessment program in high security or critical infrastructure environments.
  • Strong knowledge of threat and risk assessment methodologies, security standards (AS/NZS, PSPF, AESCSF), and project lifecycle management.
  • Outstanding communication, time management and reporting capability with the ability to influence and align corrective action with security best practices.

 

Essential Qualifications

    • Security Advisors Licence (or ability to obtain within 3 months
    • Cert II in Security Operations
    • Cert III (or above) in Security Risk Management or a related discipline, or lesser qualification with significant experience in security advisory and risk assessment roles within critical infrastructure or high security sectors
    • C Class drivers licence
