The opportunity:
As a Protection Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in driving the success of our projects. As part of a multi-disciplinary design team, your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of tasks and ultimately contribute to the successful delivery of Powerlink's design major projects group.
Some of the main responsibilities include:
- Deliver Protection Systems designs on time, within budget and to standards
- Lead the full design lifecycle, from scoping to commissioning
- Apply Safety in Design principles across all project stages
- Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders for project success
- Manage design deliverables, quality documentation and CMS/DMS updates
- Act as Owners’ Engineer on outsourced projects and drive improvements

What you'll bring:
- A degree in Electrical Engineering
- Experience with Protection Systems design inclduing fault analysis and protection relay settings calculations
- Comprehensive understanding of substation design including Primary, Secondary, and Automation systems
- Expertise delivering Protection Systems design using both internal teams and outsourced resources
