The opportunity:
As the Security Projects Advisor, you’ll lead the planning, coordination, and implementation of protective security requirements across major projects – from substations to control centres and corporate facilities. You'll be at the forefront of integrating security controls and risk mitigation strategies into the delivery of both network and non-network projects, ensuring compliance with the Security of Critical Infrastructure Act (SoCI), Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF), and other relevant regulatory obligations.
The people you'll join:
Sitting within Field and Asset Management Division, the Protective Security and Authorisations team is accountable for business wide protective security service compliance and protection functions, protecting Powerlink from activism, terrorism and criminal activity whilst managing the strategic development and application of enterprise physical security plans, systems and standards for the business.

What you'll bring:
You’re someone who thrives in a regulated environment, understands the real-world implications of critical infrastructure protection, and knows how to bring together technical, strategic, and operational expertise.
You’ll bring:
- Proven experience in delivering physical/electronic security projects in operational or critical infrastructure environments.
- Strong knowledge of threat and risk assessment methodologies, security standards (AS/NZS, PSPF, AESCSF), and project lifecycle management.
- Outstanding communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and align project outcomes with security best practices.
Essential Qualifications
- Associate Diploma level qualification in Project Delivery discipline (eg Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or Project Management), or a related discipline, or lesser qualification with significant experience in security advisory or project delivery roles within critical infrastructure sectors (preferably electricity or utilities)
- Security Advisors Licence (or ability to obtain within 3 months)
