The opportunity:
Are you ready to bid to win? We are seeking a results-driven Project Manager to lead the preparation of compelling proposals, develop economical cost-effective customer solutions, and ensure the accuracy of estimates and schedules. Your expertise will drive the development of winning strategies that balance commercial success with technical feasibility, supporting Powerlink’s Major Customers portfolio.
- Lead the preparation of detailed project proposals that align with customer needs and business objectives.
- Develop cost-effective and competitive solutions while maintaining compliance with regulatory and technical standards.
- Ensure accurate cost estimates and schedules, leveraging your expertise in project planning and risk assessment.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to define project scope, pricing strategies, and risk mitigation plans.
- Lead the development of contract specifications, conduct tender evaluations, and administer contracts with external design, construction, and testing contractors.
- Drive efficiency and innovation, ensuring project proposals are positioned for success in a competitive market.
- Develop and manage a detailed Project Management Plan, covering all aspects of project execution, including Scope, Time, Cost, Change, Integration, Quality, Human Resources, Communication, Risk, and Procurement management.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with Project Sponsors, Business Development Contractors, Service Providers, and third-party authorities, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.

The people you'll join:
Based at our Virginia office, you'll join a dynamic and highly skilled team within our Major Customers Division. This team is committed to developing winning proposals and delivering cost-effective, high-voltage solutions with a strong focus on safety, quality, and efficiency. You'll collaborate with experienced professionals across design, construction, commissioning, and network planning to ensure proposals are comprehensive, competitive, and strategically positioned to bid-to-win. The team fosters a culture of innovation, open communication, and collaboration, ensuring seamless coordination across all stages of the project lifecycle.
What you'll bring:
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or Project Management, or an equivalent discipline.
- Proven experience in developing and delivering high-quality project proposals, estimates, and schedules (experience in the High Voltage industry is an advantage).
- Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to develop cost-effective solutions that align with customer and business objectives.
- Expertise in structured project planning, including scheduling, resourcing, and stakeholder communication to drive successful outcomes.
Industry experience in managing projects within the High Voltage sector is desirable. Demonstrated ability to manage risks, monitor progress, and deliver projects on time and within budget.
