The opportunity:

 

As a Manager Sustainability and Governance at Powerlink, you will lead the development and implementation of strategies that ensure our operations align with ESG principles. This role provides the opportunity to influence organisational direction and embed sustainability into everyday practices while managing a dedicated team of three.

 

  • Develop and deliver ESG strategies that strengthen sustainability outcomes and meet evolving reporting requirements.
  • Provide advice to executives and the Board on climate risk, sustainability opportunities and compliance obligations.
  • Manage the upkeep and improvement of the environmental management system, working collaboratively to ensure it meets organisational needs Lead a team of three and work across business areas to coordinate and deliver sustainability initiatives.
  • Engage with industry, regulators and consultants to ensure Powerlink remains aligned with best practice.
  • Support capability building across the organisation to increase awareness and application of sustainability principles.

The people you'll join:

 

As a member of our Corporate Services Division, within the Environment & Sustainability Group, you’ll join a team committed to embedding sustainable practices across Powerlink. Working alongside specialists in environment, climate risk and governance, you’ll contribute to initiatives that support Powerlink’s role in providing a safe, reliable and cost-effective energy network for Queensland.

 

What you'll bring:

 

You’ll bring extensive knowledge of sustainability and ESG practices, strong strategic and analytical skills, management of environmental systems and proven experience influencing at senior levels. Your background will demonstrate the ability to lead teams, deliver cross-organisational initiatives, and navigate complex reporting and compliance frameworks.

  • Degree-level qualifications in environmental science, sustainability, commerce, economics or a related field (or equivalent relevant experience)
  • “C” Class driver’s licence
