The opportunity:

 

Reporting directly to the General Manager, People & Culture, you will lead the strategic and operational delivery of the organisational training function. This encompasses all statutory, corporate, and role-specific training for employees and contractors. Through your leadership, the organisation will benefit from a consistent, structured, and targeted approach to providing efficient, compliant, and high-quality training programs, systems, advice, and services.

 

 

Specifically, you will:

 

  • Lead the development and implementation of the organisational training strategy, with a focus on driving continuous improvement in the management and delivery of planning, needs analysis, financial, data and reporting systems.
     
  • Provide strong and effective leadership and change management to reposition the Training and Development function towards operational excellent and industry best practice to meet the organisation’s needs.
     
  • Oversee the efficient operations of the Training and Development team, ensuring the continuous evolution of solutions, services, and systems that are aligned, fit-for-purpose, and sustainable for the organisation.
     
  • Lead and oversee the implementation of instructional design methodologies to create fit-for-purpose learning outcomes based on workforce capability and business needs.
     
  • Develop, implement and oversee the maintenance of an organisational training quality, governance and vendor management framework.

The people you'll join:

 

As an integral member of the broader People and Culture Leadership team, you will lead a dedicated group of professionals. This role offers the opportunity to provide strong and effective leadership, driving operational excellence and setting industry best practices.

 

What you'll bring:

 

  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant area such as a Bachelor of Business, Training, Education or similar coupled with extensive training and development experience, OR a lesser qualification coupled with significant experience in training and development.

 

You will bring a proven track record in developing and delivering training strategies, supported by high-quality programs, initiatives, and operational execution within complex compliance-based environments. Your significant experience in people leadership will enable you to lead and embed organisational change across culture, processes, systems, and structural dimensions.

 

With the ability to seamlessly navigate between operational and strategic priorities, you will excel in operationalising strategy and driving the successful execution of key initiatives. You will ensure that risks, costs, and resources are managed within agreed budgets and timeframes.

 

Additionally, your exceptional capability to form strong relationships with enterprise-wide stakeholder groups will be a key asset in this role.
