You will be responsible for managing the assessment and governance of infrastructure-related projects, including both CAPEX and OPEX. You will strategically progress options through scoping, analysis, and approval stages while ensuring effective sponsorship and governance throughout the execution phase of the selected solution. You will also own and set the regulated capex and operating project program and budgets for the business.
You’ll lead a team of professionals to ensure structured project planning, covering scheduling, resourcing, communication and stakeholder engagement across the organisation. This will include leading the consultation processes required for the Regulatory Investment Test for Transmission (RIT-T) and Priority Transmission Investment processes, in accordance with the National Electricity Rules.
The team’s collective efforts will be aligned directly with broader organisational objectives. You’ll be accountable for ensuring appropriate project sponsorship and governance systems are in place, resulting in quality solutions with a balance between reliability and cost.
Working within a rapidly evolving environment, this role brings enormous opportunity to transform and uplift systems and processes enabling effective coordination and governance of the overall program of works, encompassing a cycle of continuous improvement.
The people you'll join:
Based in Virginia, you will work within the Network and Business Development division, reporting directly into the General Manager Network Portfolio.
The Network Portfolio team oversees the development and optimisation of Powerlink's network investment plans, ensuring alignment with business objectives. The team collaborates across the organisation to create actionable strategies, communicate plans, and support key systems.

What you'll bring:
You will hold a degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, or have a lesser qualification coupled with significant energy experience in coordinating asset planning and management within the energy, utilities or oil & gas industries. Additionally, you will have proven success in applying asset management, risk management, financial management and ongoing governance practices.
You will be passionate about building and leading collaborative, high-performing teams in delivering a portfolio of work, creating an environment of empowerment and accountability.
