The opportunity:
As a Live Substation Trade Technician, you’ll be a member of the field based live team that uses Live work methodologies to deliver maintenance, repairs and construction of high voltage substation plant and associated equipment up to 330 kV
With guidance from a specialised Live compliance team and ongoing field crew support, you will develop into a snr team leader that scopes, designs and creates Live work procedures to complete unique Live work tasks across Powerlink’s HV network.
As the Live Substation Trade Technician, is to snr team member and a member of the field based Live Substation work group to deliver maintenance, carry out repairs, operate, construct and test high voltage substation plant and associated equipment up to 330 kV. And you'll do it with down-to-earth people who you're proud to work with and get to know.
On a technical level, carrying out maintenance, repair, construction, and operation of transmission substation plant and equipment in line with standards and procedures. You'll also investigate faults, provide feedback to stakeholders, and look for opportunities to improve efficiency and processes for the benefit of the wider organisation.
The people you'll join:
Based in Brisbane and reporting to the Substation Section Leader, you be a part of the field-based team and work to deliver maintenance, repair and operate high voltage substation plant.
What you'll bring:
The demonstrated ability to maintain, construct and operate substation equipment rated up to 330 kV. A background in safely maintaining, constructing and operation of High Voltage electrical substation equipment with a Transmission, Distribution or large-scale Contractor organisation
- Qld Electrical Fitter / Mechanic licence
- Current LVR & CPR Certification
- High Risk Work Licence - Elevated Work Platform
- A current ‘C' Class drivers’ licence
- Utilise HV Live substation work methodologies to perform the installation, maintenance, repairs, and construction of transmission substation plant.
- The ability to travel frequently to remote substations across Queensland, and
- Work closely with team members, you also will enjoy variety in your work
