The opportunity:

The Line Layout Design Engineer is responsible for providing subject matter expertise and technical leadership in line layout design services. This includes delivering a range of transmission line design support activities such as project scoping, LIDAR services, design estimating, line layout design, software tools, PLS_Cadd technical coordination, training, mentoring, and technical project support. The role often serves as the first point of contact for design, scoping, budget, and timing issues related to HV primary design and provides valuable field support to ensure project implementation meets layout design requirements.

 

The Line Layout Designer position is responsible for providing line layout design and drafting services in the discipline of transmission lines. This role involves contributing to project scoping, estimating, line engineering surveys, and the coordination of minor line projects. The designer is expected to provide expertise and technical leadership in transmission line layout design and detailed PLS_Cadd design services/analysis for both internal and external customer projects, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, policies, procedures, and practice.

What you'll bring:

Line Layout Design Engineer:

  • A 4 year Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical/Civil/Structural/Mechanical)
  • Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) or the ability to obtain the RPEQ registration within a 12 month timeline.
  • Expert experience in transmission line layout design and PLS_Cadd.

 

Line Layout Designer:

  • Associate Diploma in Survey, Electrical or Civil Engineering plus relevant significant experience in transmission line layout design and PLS_Cadd
