The opportunity:
As an Information Management Specialist, you will play a vital role in enabling smooth and effective delivery of asset management, construction, and maintenance projects across the Powerlink network. You’ll help teams access the technical information they need, when they need it—ensuring accuracy, security, and compliance every step of the way.
In this role you will;
- Coordinate the registration, storage, and retrieval of technical documents and drawings using drawing management systems
- Interpret and analyse data to improve information services and support business needs
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure timely access to accurate technical information
- Maintain and support the consistent application of document control standards, including numbering, filing, archiving, and use of Common Data Environment tools
- Create solutions by analysing information from drawing management systems, to enhance information services capabilities in order to meet business needs
- Support Digital Engineering initiatives and contribute to continuous improvement of technical products and quality standards
- Provide training and guidance on document control procedures and systems
The people you'll join:
Based in our Virginia office in Brisbane, you’ll be part of our supportive and forward-thinking Information and Drawing Management Services team within Digital Engineering. This team brings together people, processes, and technology to create a more connected and collaborative way of working across project delivery and asset management. Digital Engineering represents a shift in how we design, construct, and maintain assets—focusing on smarter, more effective ways of managing information to deliver better outcomes for our people and our customers.
What you'll bring:
- Degree, Diploma or Cert level qualification in Information/Document Management, or an equivalent discipline
Your experience in document control—preferably within an owner-operator setting—will help you contribute confidently to a collaborative and service-focused team. You’ll be comfortable working with a Technical Document Management System, and while familiarity with Hexagon SDx is advantageous, it’s not essential. A keen eye for detail is critical in this role, ensuring accuracy and consistency across all documentation and processes.
Your strong organisational skills will help you manage competing priorities with care and clarity, while your thoughtful communication style will allow you to translate technical information into language that’s accessible to a wide range of stakeholders. You’ll be someone who builds trusted relationships and provides responsive, service-oriented support to both internal teams and external partners.
