- Competitive Salary starting from $130,752 + 14.75% Super for a 9 day fortnight

The opportunity:
As a Financial Accountant, you’ll step into a key role within Powerlink’s Finance Strategy & Services group, where your expertise will directly support the financial integrity of one of Queensland’s most critical infrastructure organisations.
- Lead month-end close activities, financial reporting, and the preparation of financial statements that inform executive-level decisions.
- Collaborate across teams to deliver accurate analysis, reconciliations, and insights that drive strategic financial outcomes.
- Leverage advanced tools like SAP S/4HANA and Power BI to streamline processes and enhance data-driven decision-making.
- Support internal and external audit processes, ensuring full compliance with statutory, regulatory, and tax obligations.
- Support the development and ongoing maintenance of Powerlink’s asset accounting framework underpinning financial reporting, asset management practices and organisational objectives.
- Contribute to a high-performing, purpose-driven finance team known for solving complex challenges and driving continuous improvement.

The people you'll join:
As a member of our Finance Strategy & Services team within the Finance & Governance Division, you’ll join a collaborative group of finance professionals who are passionate about accuracy, integrity, and continuous improvement. Based in Virginia, the team plays a critical role in delivering trusted financial insights and reporting that underpin Powerlink’s strategic and operational decisions across Queensland’s energy network.
What you'll bring:
You’ll bring strong technical accounting expertise, sharp analytical skills, and a proactive mindset that supports continuous improvement and effective financial governance. With a deep understanding of financial reporting standards, end-to-end accounting processes, and compliance obligations, you thrive in fast-paced environments and work confidently with stakeholders across all levels of the business.
To be successful in this role, you’ll need:
• Bachelor degree qualification in Finance or Accounting, or other relevant discipline
• Postgraduate qualification in a Financial or Accounting discipline (e.g. CA or CPA)
