The opportunity:

 

As an Environmental Offsets Specialist, you’ll play a crucial role in designing and delivering biodiversity offset programs that balance development with environmental conservation. You’ll work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders to create innovative, science-based strategies that protect and enhance biodiversity.

 

  • Develop offset strategies aligned with regulatory and corporate sustainability requirements.
  • Collaborate with government agencies, landholders, and internal teams to secure and manage offset sites.
  • Oversee monitoring frameworks to track ecological outcomes and adapt management approaches.
  • Provide technical expertise that influences biodiversity conservation across the organisation.
  • Contribute to projects that have lasting environmental and community impact.

The people you'll join:

 

As a member of the Corporate Services Division within the Environment & Sustainability (E&S) Group, you will join a dedicated team focused on advancing Powerlink’s environmental performance through innovative and compliant biodiversity offset programs. Based in this collaborative environment, your role will involve working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver effective offset solutions that support sustainable infrastructure development. 

 

What you'll bring:

 

You will bring strong expertise in ecology and biodiversity offsetting, with proven experience in developing and managing offset programs that meet regulatory and corporate sustainability requirements. Your ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders and apply science-based approaches will be key to driving successful environmental outcomes.

 

  • Degree level qualification in Ecology, Environmental Science, or equivalent
