The opportunity:

 

The Design Manager is responsible for managing the design process for the delivery of Powerlink’s network projects. This role oversees and manages both internal and external sourced designs and acts as the central point of contact for project designs. The Design Manager liaises with and advises the project delivery team and other relevant stakeholders to ensure that designs meet Powerlink’s requirements and that all areas of design are aligned with the project requirements. 

As the Design Manager you will lead the project design delivery for multidisciplinary design teams to ensure successful delivery of simultaneous multiple large-scale projects. This includes scoping, scheduling, reporting, cost, quality, risk management, and teamwork.

What you'll bring:

 

  • Extensive knowledge of one or more of the following areas relevant to the position: Substation Design (Civil or Electrical) and Transmission Lines Design (Civil, Electrical, or Layout). 
  • Degree qualification in Engineering or lesser qualification with extensive knowledge and experience in design of high voltage substations, transmission lines and/or telecommunications technologies.
