As an Asset Management Engineer, you’ll join a team that’s helping ensure the integrity of our transmission assets. You’ll apply your engineering and analytical expertise to optimise asset performance, reliability and cost-efficiency across the network. You’ll contribute to strategy and policy development, lead performance analysis and condition assessments, and help shape reinvestment plans that extend asset life and deliver long-term value through data-driven decision making.

The opportunity:
As an Asset Management Engineer, you’ll join a team that’s helping ensure the integrity of our transmission assets. You’ll apply your engineering and analytical expertise to optimise asset performance, reliability and cost-efficiency across the network. You’ll contribute to strategy and policy development, lead performance analysis and condition assessments, and help shape reinvestment plans that extend asset life and deliver long-term value through data-driven decision making.
You’ll also provide technical input into area planning, support network change justifications, and apply maintenance and risk management principles to maximise return on assets. Your work will influence strategy and information practices, ensuring insights drive smarter decisions and help keep us aligned with evolving business needs and market trends.
The people you'll join:
You’ll form part of the Asset Strategies Group within Powerlink’s Field and Asset Management Division.
The Asset Strategies team plays a pivotal role in safeguarding our network through analytical rigour and forward-thinking innovation. In a rapidly transforming energy landscape, they remain curious, adaptable, and committed to the collective success of Powerlink. Their work drives meaningful outcomes for customers and supports Powerlink’s strategic objectives to provide a safe, reliable network.
What you'll bring:
You’ll be degree qualified in engineering (electrical, mechanical or structural) with proven experience in engineering, commissioning or a technical support role within the energy sector. You’ll have knowledge of overhead and underground transmission technologies, analytical thinking, and a practical approach to problem-solving.
You’ll bring proven experience with asset management practices and SAP PM, and enjoy working within a data-driven environment, along with familiarisation of industry regulations and standards.
