As the Communications Specialist, you’ll enjoy working as part of a team to help deliver the internal and external communication requirements for the CopperString 2032 project.

 

Specifically, you will:

  • Plan, develop and implement timely, fit-for-purpose communication materials (across both internal and external audiences) to enable the CopperString 2032 project to achieve its goals and contribute to a positive project team culture.
     
  • Support the development of CopperString 2032 communications material, including collateral development (e.g. project newsletters and fact sheets, website content and media materials, speeches, presentations) to effectively communicate the project’s key messages, both internally and externally.

 

  • Plan and coordinate Powerlink events and represent the organisation at key external industry forums to raise awareness across the breadth of the CopperString project corridor, from Townsville out to Mount Isa.
     

Use your extensive stakeholder networks to deliver mutually beneficial outcomes for CopperString and Powerlink in North Queensland.

 

As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in crafting and delivering impactful communications that enhance our brand and engage our stakeholders. You will thrive in a dynamic operational environment, where you’ll be the primary point of contact for all communication related initiatives and activities.

 

**N.B. This is a 12month maximum term contract to cover a period of parental leave. **

The community you will join

Based in Townsville, you will work closely with the Manager of External Communications and the Manager of Stakeholder and Community for the CopperString 2032 project. As part of the broader Communications, Customer, and Engagement Group, you will join a team that thrives on high performance. Each member's dedication to excellence is complemented by a strong emphasis on collaboration, fostering a dynamic and achievement-oriented environment.
 

Your expertise

  • Degree level qualification in Communication, Digital Communication, Public Relations or a related discipline 


You will have a proven track record in developing communication plans and creating content for both internal and external audiences within a medium-sized, complex business. Your expertise in traditional and new communications approaches will enable you to effectively deliver outcomes that align with business goals through various communication channels.


With exceptional skills in all forms of writing and editing, you will be able to communicate messages clearly and support business objectives. Additionally, you will bring extensive experience in crafting impactful corporate speeches and presentations, as well as significant expertise in brand and corporate identity development and management.
