The opportunity:

Leads and supervises daily distribution operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and accuracy across inbound processing, order fulfilment, inventory control, and outbound shipments. Drives optimal resource use and budget adherence while fostering a strong safety culture and developing a high-performing team. Collaborates across functions to maintain smooth material flow, continuous improvement, and outstanding customer satisfaction.

 

 

  • Lead and supervise the Distribution team and contractors across inbound processing, order fulfilment, loading docks, and inventory control. Ensure efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods while maximising resources and aligning with operational goals. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and high performance.
  • Champion a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental, and Chain of Responsibility regulations.
  • Monitor KPIs to evaluate daily operations, identify improvements, and implement corrective actions within budget. Drive continuous improvement by optimising resources and maintaining cost efficiency.
  • Deliver hands-on training and coaching on operational processes, safety, and equipment use to develop team skills and support safe, effective task execution.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for operational issues, resolving disruptions promptly to maintain workflow and high customer satisfaction through accurate, timely order fulfilment.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure smooth material flow and address operational challenges quickly.
  • Participate in a 24-hour emergency response roster to support safe, efficient delivery of materials during critical events.

The people you'll join:

Located in Narangba, this role reports to the Manager Distribution as part of the Warehousing and Logistics Group.

 

Powerlink is undergoing significant transformation in the way we deliver services to Queenslanders. With exponential growth already underway, and a significant pipeline of infrastructure projects on the horizon, our Supply Chain Services teams have never been more crucial in equipping our people with the resources to deliver to our strategy.

 

Our Warehouse & Logistics team has recently undergone an expansion, resulting in the creation of several new roles to support our increasing inventory to support upcoming infrastructure projects.

What you'll bring:

Solid warehouse experience who knows how to work safely and follow HSE and CoR rules. You’ve got hands-on skills with forklifts, know how to secure loads properly, and can handle all the warehouse tasks including receiving, picking, and inventory.

 

You’re confident using Transport Management Systems and can keep up in a fast-paced environment. You work well in a team and help keep things running smoothly.

 

Essential:

  • Certificate III in Warehousing Operations or Driving Operations and significant experience in a Distribution Centre/Heavy Industries warehouse environment, with a requirement to obtain a Certificate IV in Warehousing Operations within 2 years.
  • Licence to operate a Forklift Truck
  • Licence to operate an Order Picking Forklift Truck
  • Licence to perform Dogging
