The opportunity:

Responsible for the safe, efficient delivery, storage, and movement of materials, this role involves a range of tasks to support warehouse operations. Key duties include receiving goods, preparing orders, maintaining accurate inventory records, and operating equipment in accordance with safety and transport regulations. The role also plays an active part in supporting continuous improvement initiatives and maintaining a strong focus on warehouse safety.

Inbound processing responsibilities involve receiving deliveries and returns, conducting inspections, reporting any issues, and ensuring all information is accurately updated in the system. For order fulfilment, tasks include picking, packing, and labelling orders, as well as preparing necessary documentation such as consignment notes, safety data sheets (SDS), and invoices.

Additionally, the role includes operating equipment such as forklifts and order pickers, ensuring all tasks are carried out safely and efficiently. Working at heights is a requirement, particularly when picking or putting away pallets at 9 metres. Candidates should also be capable of manual handling, including lifting up to 20kg and performing repetitive lifting during picking, packing, and put-away processes.

The people you'll join:

Located in Narangba, this role reports to the Team Leader Distribution as part of the Warehousing and Logistics Group.

Powerlink is undergoing significant transformation in the way we deliver services to Queenslanders. With exponential growth already underway, and a significant pipeline of infrastructure projects on the horizon, our Supply Chain Services teams have never been more crucial in equipping our people with the resources to deliver to our strategy.

Our Warehouse & Logistics team has recently undergone an expansion, resulting in the creation of several new roles to support our increasing inventory to support upcoming infrastructure projects.

What you'll bring:

This role involves operating high-reach forklifts and order pickers at heights of up to 9 metres, so applicants must be comfortable working at elevated levels and be certified in using this equipment.

Daily tasks include lifting items weighing up to 20kg, so a good level of physical fitness is essential. While most work occurs indoors, some tasks will be outdoors in varying weather conditions, so adaptability is important.

Candidates should be competent in basic computer systems, including SAP, as well as Microsoft Word and Outlook. Familiarity with these tools will support efficiency and accuracy in daily operations.

Essential:

  • Certificate III in Warehousing Operations or Driving Operations and significant experience in a Distribution Centre/Heavy Industries warehouse environment, with a requirement to obtain a Certificate IV in Warehousing Operations within 2 years.
  • Licence to operate a Forklift Truck
  • Licence to operate an Order Picking Forklift Truck
  • Licence to perform Dogging
