SCADA Control Systems Engineers (Multiple roles)

We are currently looking for multiple SCADA Control System Engineers to join our new Advanced Energy Management Systems team at Powerlink Queensland. This is a highly dynamic and agile role, where you will perform display conversions, remediation and maintenance works on new and innovative operational technology and systems.

Your key responsibilities in the role will include:

  • Validate data conversion for the AEMS.
  • Maintain the AEMS database integrity post conversion.
  • Create, remediate and validate AEMS displays
  • Maintain AEMS displays with changes to keep it synced with the legacy system.
  • Support and maintain data conversion for supporting systems including data historians

About you

Your success in this position will rely on your previous experience working in Power Systems Operations or an EMS operations environment, coupled with excellent time management skills that enable you to manage a high volume of complex and time critical technical works. You are highly competent in interpreting electrical diagrams and creating single line diagram and tabular displays, and have strong capability in utilising SCADA data communication technologies (e.g. DNP3, Conitel, ICCP, serial and IP based methods).

You have high attention to detail, are solutions focused, have excellent problem solving skills, which are shown in the success and accuracy of your work. You also possess a tertiary qualification in Electrical or Electronics Engineering. An RPEQ certification or working towards gaining RPEQ is highly desirable, but not essential for this role.
