The opportunity:

 

As a Project Manager, you'll lead and manage complex projects that support the delivery of our critical regulated projects portfolio. This role is pivotal in ensuring smooth communication and coordination across various functional groups and divisions, contributing to the overall success of each of our regulated projects.

 

  • Prepare comprehensive project proposal documentation and estimates in alignment with the Project Sponsor’s requirements.
  • Develop and manage a detailed Project Management Plan, focusing on all aspects of project management including Scope, Time, Cost, Change, Integration, Quality, Human Resources, Communication, Risk, and Procurement management.
  • Lead the development of contract specifications, conduct tender evaluations, and administer contracts with external design, construction, and testing contractors.
  • Simultaneously manage several projects with varying complexities, ensuring all projects align with Powerlink’s standards, policies, and practices, especially regarding Environmental, Cultural Heritage, and Safety requirements.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with Project Sponsors, Contractors, Service Providers, and third-party authorities, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Proactively manage and mitigate project risks, monitor progress, and engage resources effectively to meet project deadlines and budgets.
  • Ensure that legal obligations are met, with a particular focus on safety, environmental, and cultural heritage compliance.

 

The people you'll join:

 

Based at our Virginia office, you'll join a dynamic and highly skilled team within our Delivery and Technical Solutions Division. This  team is dedicated to delivering complex high voltage projects with a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency. You'll work alongside experienced professionals from various disciplines, including design, construction, commissioning, and network planning, ensuring seamless coordination across all stages of the project lifecycle. The team values innovation, open communication, and collaboration in everything they do. 

What you'll bring:

 

  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or Project Management, or an equivalent discipline.
  • Demonstrated industry experience in managing projects within the High Voltage industry.
  • Proven ability to develop structured project plans, including scheduling, resourcing, and communication, ensuring alignment with broader organisational objectives.
    Strong project delivery experience, with the ability to manage risks, monitor progress, and achieve objectives within the agreed budget and timeline.
