- Competitive Salary starting from $185,735 + 14.75% Super (10-day fortnight)

The opportunity:
As a Line Layout Design Engineer, you will be recognised as the PLS_Cadd specialist, providing technical leadership and subject matter expertise for a variety of transmission line design activities. Your responsibilities will encompass project scoping, LIDAR services, design estimating, and line layout design, while also ensuring effective technical coordination within the PLS_Cadd platform.
In this position, you will provide expert guidance on transmission line layout design, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and organisational policies. You will be responsible for conducting cost-effective and efficient designs, offering engineering survey services, and producing technical reports throughout all project phases, from concept through to commissioning and maintenance. Your expertise will be instrumental in coaching and mentoring the design team, enhancing their skills and ensuring high standards of quality in compliance with design standards.
You will ensure that all layout designs deliver value for money and meet aesthetic and constructability requirements while adhering to safety protocols. Additionally, you will oversee engineering surveys of transmission lines, employing advanced survey equipment such as Lidar, total stations, and differential GPS.
The people you'll join:
Based in Virginia, you will join our Design Solutions group within the Delivery & Technical Services division, reporting directly to the Team Leader Line Layout Design.
What you'll bring:
Candidates must hold a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical, Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering and possess expert experience in transmission line layout design and PLS_Cadd. You should have comprehensive knowledge of electrical clearances, insulators, conductors, and hardware, along with significant expertise in line construction and the design principles of overhead lines. Proficiency in AutoCAD and strong competencies in engineering surveys using advanced survey technologies are essential.
