The opportunity:

 

As the Investigations Advisor,  you will work closely with various subject matter experts across the business to investigate and respond to early project investigations, delivering optimal land and network solutions. 
 

Here’s how:

 

  • Provide advice and recommendations for strategies and tactical implementation for the acquisition of land, easements and rights. 
  • Deliver property option investigation reports for optimal network solutions.
  • Lead the co-ordination in property- and land/ easements planning and approvals matters relating to new projects
  • Act as a subject matter expert and represent the Property team and Powerlink in meetings with the proponent/customer
  • Collaborate to develop and document effective property investigation processes and aligned work procedures/checklists

The people you'll join:

 

Based in Virginia, you will join a team of experts in Property Strategy and Governance activities in the CDS group as part of the Major Projects division.  Your team proactively engages with internal experts, landholders, developers and other key community stakeholders to ensure we can optimize our delivery and effectively and efficiently operate and maintain our network. You will help provide advice as you grow your skills every day. And you’ll do it with down-to-earth people who are experts in their field and you’re proud to work with and get to know. 

What you'll bring:

 

  • Tertiary qualifications in property/real estate, project management, valuation, surveying, law, business, commerce or related field
  • Extensive demonstrated property and land acquisition experience 

 

We'd also love you to have demonstrated ability to: 
 

  • Provide strategic and tactical property services by investigating, evaluating and delivering property and land acquisition outcomes
  • Develop and draft complex documents, reports, including analysis, advice and recommendations
  • Work under pressure in short timeframes to respond to pre-project investigations and or network option investigations
  • Apply knowledge in relation to critical infrastructure Network planning, relevant rules and regulations (i.e. NEM) to optimise financial return on services.
  • Manage cross functional collaboration for the scheduling and reporting for property components of early proposed projects 
  • Substantial experience in briefing/instructing professional services, with ability to interpret valuation and legal advice and apply to successfully negotiate resolutions.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of relevant Legislation and Acts that govern property acquisition and other property dealings in electricity and/or resource infrastructure industry
  • Manage multiple projects and customer interactions
  • Work with SAP, Geographical systems and record management systems
