The opportunity:

 

As an Engineering Test Officer, you will be responsible for conducting thorough testing between our Advanced Energy Management System (AEMS) and field-based systems to ensure all operator functions perform as expected before going live.

 

Specifically, you will:

 

  • Testing interoperability between the AEMS and field RTUs (IP and serial)
  • Ensuring displays operate correctly without errors
  • Testing other AEMS core functions such as ICCP, Historian, SCLs, Calcs, Contingency Analysis, and State Estimator
  • Verifying that database points are correctly assigned with no data errors post conversion
  • Confirming that alarms/events are displayed correctly in the alarm browser

This critical role, reporting directly to our AEMS Team Leader, is part of our Energy & Digital Management team. It requires a high degree of originality, ingenuity, judgment, and expertise.

 

We are seeking passionate professionals to help us deliver cutting-edge technologies that streamline processes, enhance customer experience, and introduce innovative ways of working.

What you'll bring:

 

  • Advanced Diploma or other relevant tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering

 

We are seeking a skilled professional with experience in Power Systems Operations or EMS operations, including power transmission network operations and distribution and control centre practices.

 

The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated ability to understand testing methodologies and complete testing activities to ensure comprehensive, auditable, and high-quality outcomes for the AEMS.

 

You will have considerable demonstrated ability in utilising SCADA data communication technologies and Microsoft Office.

 

You should have the ability to apply upgrades and software modifications to minimise operational interruptions and meet user requirements. Strong skills in configuring complex technology-based systems, analysing faults, and resolving issues in time-critical tasks and projects are necessary.
