The opportunity:

 

In this important project delivery role, you will quickly have to establish yourself as the on-site expert in providing construction advice to support successful planning, execution and commissioning of Powerlink Infrastructure projects. You are the go-to-person for electrical construction technical guidance and the inspection of electrical infrastructure works, confirming quality assurance and ensuring compliance with Powerlink’s project delivery standards.

 

The people you'll join:

 

You will be joining the Construction teams in the Infrastructure Delivery Group as part of the Delivery and Technical Solutions division where you will be a technical expert and provide electrical construction technical guidance for the Facilitators/Inspectors and Powerlink contractors.

What you'll bring:

 

You will need to have significant experience in high voltage power systems particularly transmission lines and/or substations, secondary systems and/or telecommunications, sufficient to understand all the technical components and theory of operation.
 

You are recognised as an on-site expert in the provision of technical support and advice in the planning and construction of high voltage transmission infrastructure projects.
 

Safety is a critical value for you, you insist on the effective application of safe systems of work, resulting in safe outcomes and/or performance improvement.
 

You have significant demonstrated planning and construction high voltage substation experience that allows you to provide technical leadership and coaching to staff and contractors regarding high voltage electrical construction works. 

 

Essential:

 

  • Advanced Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification;
  • Qualification as an Electrical Work Licence (Queensland) -  Electrical Fitter and/or Mechanic, with significant experience in the provision of High Voltage substation electrical construction advice
  • Current Qld “C class” Drivers Licence (manual)
  • Queensland General Safety Induction (Construction Industry)
