The opportunity:
As our Easement Strategist, you will work closely with various subject matter experts across the business to obtain a strong understanding of the business and network needs including both the regulated and non-regulated parts of the business and convert these needs into rights in land that enable future development.
Here’s how:
- Provide strategic advice on the delivery of sound, fit-for-purpose and contemporary strategies for the advanced acquisition of easement corridors
- Lead the development of innovative strategies and technical solutions to facilitate effective identification, acquisition and maintenance of easement corridors
- Build and maintain key internal and external stakeholder relationships
- Proactively identify and communicate emerging issues and trends across Powerlink’s rights in land and co-use guidelines considering large infrastructure builds.
- Provide strategic advice, support and mentoring on the development of the network needs and corridor solutions including strategic corridor acquisition, management and disposal of easements.
The people you'll join:
Based in Virginia, you will working closely with experts in property strategy and land acquistion as part of the Community and Delivery Services group in our Major Projects division. This team proactively engages with internal experts, landholders, developers and other key community stakeholders to ensure we can optimize our delivery and effectively and efficiently operate and maintain our network. You will help provide advice as you grow your skills every day. And you’ll do it with down-to-earth people who you’re proud to work with and get to know.
What you'll bring:
- Relevant degree qualification in Property, Surveying, Law, Management, Business, Engineering or a related discipline.
- Significant experience in property, property management, surveying or a related discipline related to the energy sector.
We'd also love you to have demonstrated ability to:
- Lead and develop strategic property objectives and project plans based on relevant inputs including external scans and vision/strategy material.
- Liaise, negotiate and consult with senior management and a diverse range of stakeholders, customers and regulators on strategic and operational issues.
- Understand the scoping and maturing early stages of infrastructure development projects.
- Summarise complex property issues to produce reports and recommendations including the creation of Project Initiation Forms
- Develop network property strategy and drive strategic business processes within a medium to large organisation, preferably one involving provision of regulated utility services
Ideally you will have demonstrated knowledge of and experience in:
- Relevant legislation requirements including the Acquisition of Land Act, Electricity Act, Environmental Protection Act
- Understanding electrical infrastructure networks, interconnectivity and associated power flows.
