  • Competitive Salary starting from around $225K plus 14.75% Super for a 10-day, 80 hour working fortnight

The opportunity:

 

As the Project Engineering Lead you will lead engineering infrastructure services and advice to the project delivery teams and external contractors to develop and deliver Major Transmission Lines and Substation projects.

 

 

You will be responsible for leading the engineering team and coordinate the activities to provide engineering input and advice to support allocated HV transmission line and substation infrastructure construction projects.

 

 

To support the project delivery team and external stakeholders you will provide technical expertise to optimise engineering solutions, resolve issues and ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and are compliant with standards, legislation and protocols. 

The people you'll join:

 

Based in our Bowen Hills Major Projects office you will be part of a dedicated major project delivery team in our Major Projects Division working hand in hand with our engineering project teams and external construction partners to support the successful delivery of critical and complex HV transmission lines and substation focussed projects.

This role will require regular travel to regional Queensland construction sites.

What you'll bring:

 

You have gained your professional experience in coaching and mentoring of personnel in the delivery of engineering services for major infrastructure projects.

 

You have demonstrated experience, functional expertise and operational understanding across project related engineering fields, for example:

 

  • Overhead Transmission Line High Voltage Electrical Engineering;
  • High Voltage Transmission Line  and Substation Civil / Structural Engineering;
  • Up to date knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, Australian and International Standards.

  • Strong time management, planning and organisational skills;
  • Tenacity and initiative to work through complex engineering solutions and issues focussed on optimised and efficient delivery;
  • Strong customer service and stakeholder management skills, achieving success through your broad collaboration, consultation, negotiation and influencing skills.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Relevant degree qualification in engineering with experience and knowledge of high voltage substations, transmission lines and/or telecommunications technologies; or
  • Proven experience in engineering, project management or other relevant technical roles, preferably within the energy,  infrastructure or transmission sectors.
