The opportunity:

 

As a Project Delivery Director you will be contributing to the success of construction and commissioning of our Major Projects Portfolio supporting the future development of Queensland's transmission network.

 

You will ensure the projects will be conducted in a safe and efficient manner, you will be monitoring progress, managing and mitigating risks and effectively engaging and developing the delivery team to achieve successful outcomes within the agreed budget and timeframes.

 

This director role will see you identifying and managing delivery risks and opportunities associated with our Major Projects portfolio, creating opportunities for input to improve Powerlink’s major projects delivery methodology and decision making in delivering  once-in-a-generation transmission projects.

The people you'll join:

 

In these critical project delivery leadership roles you be part of a larger Major Projects Delivery office. You will lead a high performing, multi-functional, project delivery team based in Bowen Hills in Brisbane supporting large transmission network projects based in Queensland. Frequent travel to site and / or regional locations is a requirement for the role, with short periods working away from home.

 

You’ll work in a closely knit project delivery team and help find clever solutions to interesting project delivery problems, as you grow your skills and your impact every day. And you’ll do it with down-to-earth people who you’re proud to work with and get to know.

What you'll bring:

 

You will need to bring significant relevant experience in managing project delivery teams in the planning and execution of end to end construction of major HV infrastructure. 

 

You will also need to be able to demonstrate: 

 

  • Demonstrated experience in overseeing the performance of contractors and ensuring the review, acceptance and implementation of Principle Contractor safe systems of work.  
  • Applied knowledge of all relevant legislation, policies, procedures and practices within the High Voltage Transmission environment.  

 

Qualifications:

  • Degree level qualifications in Engineering, Construction, Project Management disciplines or a lesser qualification with significant experience

 

We’d also love you to have:

  • Post graduate qualifications in management or project management is desirable.
