  • Competitive Salary starting from $194,088 plus 14.75% super (10 day fortnight)
  • Temporary role to July 2026

The opportunity:

As a Business Improvement Specialist, you will be passionate about establishing and fostering continuous improvement to enable high standards of excellence and value in the delivery of large-scale projects.

In this role, you will:

 

  • Establish and integrate lessons learned and continuous improvement practices into project development and delivery, fostering a culture of learning and innovation.
  • Manage newly introduced continuous improvement systems by providing reports, supporting action owners in completing continuous improvement activities, and ensuring changes are embedded into the business's procedural frameworks.
  • Support divisional strategy and business planning activities, as well as the delivery of key strategic initiatives.
  • Offer specialist expertise in improvement, optimization, innovation, and change management, providing advice across the division to identify and implement efficient and innovative business improvements.
  • Facilitate cross-divisional internal workshops and external engagements related to strategy and improvement activities.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships across a newly established team and with stakeholders across Powerlink through regular engagement to embed improvement projects and activities.

Join our dynamic Major Projects Office (MPO) team and be at the heart of delivering large-scale, high-impact projects within Powerlink's Major Projects Division.

 

Based in our Bowen Hills Office, the MPO enables our portfolio to meet the highest standards of excellence and value by providing frameworks, practices, and processes for project teams to deliver projects with world-class methodologies.

 

This Business Improvement team is established on a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, where each member’s unique expertise is enhanced by a focus on collaboration, ultimately leading to the collective success.

What you'll bring:

You will have degree-level qualification in business, quality management, engineering, or a related field, or a lesser qualification with extensive experience in a large, complex infrastructure environment.

 

You’ll bring demonstrated expertise in developing, maintaining, and implementing project review and lessons learned programs. Additionally, the ability to facilitate and lead the creation of high-quality business improvement and strategic plans, gathering information from multiple stakeholders to ensure that strategies, plans, and targets meet both the immediate and long-term objectives of major projects and the enterprise, is crucial.

 

Experience in facilitating and documenting strategy, business and process reviews, and implementing improvements through project management and delivery is also required. Successful collaboration with diverse stakeholders to drive business outcomes, including through the facilitation of workshops, is key.

 

Furthermore, proven skills in project management, business analysis, stakeholder engagement process analysis, optimisation, business improvement, and change management will be invaluable in this role.
