The opportunity:

 

As the Substation Section Leader, Townsville, you will be a valued team member as well as lead and manage the field based substation specialists to deliver maintenance, carry out repairs, operate, construct and test high voltage substation plant and associated equipment up to 330 kV. And you'll do it with down-to-earth people who you're proud to work with and get to know.

On a technical level be responsible for the substation team, carrying out maintenance, repair, construction, and operation of transmission substation plant and equipment in line with standards and procedures. You will report on activities, outcomes and budgets to ensure the operations are aligned with business goals.

The people you'll join:

 

Based in Townsville reporting to the Manager Transmission Substation Delivery, you be a part of our Field and Asset Managment team, working within the field-based delivery team and work to provide maintenance, repair and operate high voltage substation plant.

What you'll bring:

 

The demonstrated ability to maintain, construct and operate substation equipment rated up to 330 kV. A background in safely maintaining, constructing and operation of High Voltage electrical substation equipment with a Transmission, Distribution or large-scale Contractor organisation.

 

  • Qld Electrical Fitter / Mechanic licence
  • Current LVR & CPR Certification
  • High Risk Work Licence - Elevated Work Platform
  • A current ‘C' Class drivers' licence
  • Demonstrated ability to lead work teams and provide on the job technical advice and direction
  • Demonstrated ability to provide technical training, advice and direction on jobs to address problems/issues and increase capability
  • The ability to travel when required, to remote substations across Queensland, and
  • Work closely with team members, you also will enjoy variety in your work
