The opportunity:

 

As a HV Field Test Technician, you will join the leading QLD Power and Energy Transmission sector. You will be responsible for ensuring High Voltage Substations are commissioned to the Transmission energy standard.

 

You will have the opportunity to work on a range of cutting-edge protection systems and primary plant infrastructure in a high voltage substation environment. The role involves installing, testing, commissioning and fault finding complex electrical, logical and HV systems.

 

We are seeking a professional High Voltage Engineering Officer with an eagerness to share and learn new skills to and help us build Queensland's next generation power grid.

The people you'll join:

 

Based in Townsville, you will be joining our growing team who play a vital role in the energy transition. Your role will involve working throughout the state of Queensland, operating and upgrading our transmission network and substations.

 

What you'll bring:

 

  • An Electrical Trade Certificate with a QLD electrical licence or the ability to obtain one prior to commencement
  • An Associate Degree or Advanced Diploma in Electrical Engineering (desirable) 
  • A current ‘C' Class drivers licence

 

You will also excel in analysing and troubleshooting complex electrical circuits, communicate effectively in technical settings, and prepare high-quality technical reports and work procedures.

 

If you do not already hold an Associate Degree or Advanced Diploma in a related Electrical Engineering field, it is expected that you have significant progress towards one and continue to undertake studies to achieve or be willing to obtain. Powerlink will support you toward achieving this!
